Danity Kane Beats Day 26 In First Week Sales
It's official, Bad Boy divas Danity Kane have outsold fellow label mates and "Making the Band" crew Day 26 in their first week sales figures.DK opened with 236,000 sales at the No. 1 spot last week. While Day 26's self-titled debut hit the charts at No. 1 too, bumping DK from the throne, the boy band only moved 190,000 copies, according to the Nielsen SoundScan, significantly less than DK's Welcome to the Dollhouse debut.
Meanwhile, Dollhouse's sales took a 62% hit this week as DK sold only 89,000 units this week and fell to No. 4.
Day 26 is the first new male group to open at No. 1 since 2001 when Eminem and D12's Devil's Night topped the charts.
While the girls may have beaten out Day 26...you have to look at the familiarity of the group! At the end of the day, the production, quality, and overall sound of Day26 surpasses anything that DK's has ever put out. So while they win in numbers and sex appeal (to me at least) Day26 is definitely the shit when it comes to the two!!!
MARIAH BREAKS ELVIS' RECORD! (and my neck)
She's also poised to take out the Beatles' record of the most #1 albums which is twenty. So she's gonna do the damn thing! All she needs to do now is quit that page and let me go ahead and touch that body! I mean it would be real official...like a referee with a whistle.
WE MIGHT AS WELL DO IT
Beyonce and Jay-Z are reportedly making plans to tie the knot soon and official papers have been filed to prove it.
Gossip sites have rumored the super couple have been engaged, married and soon-to-be married for the latter part of their five-year relationship, but this time there's proof.
The two actually took out a marriage license yesterday morning (Apr. 1) in Scarsdale, N.Y., according to People magazine. The document is good for 60 days.
A rep for Beyoncé had "No comment" and Jay-Z's spokesperson couldn't be reached.
Jay and Bey have been dating since 2002, though both have been very private about their relationship. Rumors of the two being an item first began to swirl after the singer appeared on Jay's track "03 Bonnie & Clyde," and he returned the favor, collabing on Beyonce's solo smash "Crazy in Love."
In a Dec 2006 interview with InStyle, Bey said, "You can't rush a man into anything - whether it's a relationship, marriage or having children."
Most recently, it was rumored that the two were planning a wedding in the Caribbean. Those claims were denied by the artists' reps.
The couple has two months to wed before the marriage license expires.
